February 25, 2012 - Orland Alumni Association Annual Dinner

Bill and Shirley Ceccon, both 1955 Orland High School graduates, will be honored as Co-Alumnus-of-the-Year at the Orland Alumni Association Annual Dinner February 25th in recognition of their contributions while volunteering at local schools and elsewhere in the community.  The event begins with social hour at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. in the Arts and Crafts Building of the Glenn County Fairgrounds. A flyer for making reservations will be mailed with the OAA Newsletter around January 20th.  Should you prefer to reserve space earlier, just mail your name(s) and graduation date(s) (if applicable) along with a $25 per person donation to OAA, P.O. The Golden Grads Luncheon was held Saturday, May 14th 2011 at the Orland High School Gymnasium.  Golden Grads is a special day for Orland High School Alumni who either have celebrated their 50th class reunion.

This time a total of two hundred alumni and spouses attendeded the Golden Grads luncheon.  Roughly nine alumni were from the 1930s, fifty-four were from the 1940s, one hundred and four were from the 1950s, fourteen were from the classes of 1960 and 1961, and about twenty were spouses.  Around fifty came from Orland and most of the others came from other cities in California.  Around ten or so made it all the way from Texas, Utah, Arizona, Oregon, or the state of Washington.

Some alumni and spouses joined in on a "Walking Tour" of Orland after the luncheon and a small group met for dinner that night at the City Gates Cafe.
